I’m a huge sucker for old movies, particularly Musicals. One of my favorites growing up was “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” and I still get the songs stuck in my head. Every June, when wedding season rolls around, I sing (in my head, of course, no one wants to hear that noise) one of the songs from the movie… “Oh they say when you marry in June, you’re a bride all your life!” It’s super cheesy, but I myself am a June bride and so I have a special place in my heart for them 🙂
When this June rolled around, I knew my first wedding of the month would be amazing. It was going to be a long day for sure, but the whole of it was to be celebrated on the U.S. Naval Academy grounds. Win-win. It’s always a dream to photograph a wedding in the Chapel, but the grounds of the Academy in June are always breathtaking, and it makes for the most gorgeous background. When I met Paige and Andrew in person (a day before their wedding), I knew their wedding would be one for the books. Both of them had secret plans to surprise each other in so many little ways during the day, and it made me just fall in love with them instantly!
When we arrived at their wedding festivities the next morning, family and friends were buzzing around in excitement. You couldn’t help but be excited with them! They planned a “secret” first look before their ceremony and it was one of the most special moments from the day. The rest of the day went by like the warm, Annapolis breeze. Paige and Andrew held hands almost the entire afternoon, exchanging little looks and smiles with each other. Spending several months living far apart before their wedding was a challenge, and now they were together. Finally. Each one of their guests had an amazing time and would it have been a Navy wedding without an epic version of “You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feeling?” No. Theirs was one of the most impressive performances I’ve seen to date 🙂
After a beautiful ribbon streamer exit, Paige and Andrew’s day was over, but theirs will always be one that went down in the books for MB Photography! Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Gsell!
