Easter is one of my favorite Holidays. For me, it represents a time of new life and new beginnings. Not only does this have a special meaning for me in a religious sense, it’s also occuring all around us in nature: the trees are blooming, flowers are everywhere, and people break out of their winter ruts and dress up in their finest wardrobe for Spring. Perhaps our religious Easter takes place this time of year for a reason.
It’s SO fun being an Aunt. I’ve watched, first hand, all seven of these kiddos grow up to become the sweet children they are. They all get along so well and just get so excited when they get together. Thankfully, the competitive spirit of their parents has been passed down to them, so when it’s time for the Easter Egg Hunt, it’s Game On. This year was a little bit harder since they are all getting older. No longer can my Dad toss 5 bags of loaded plastic eggs in the middle of our back yard! It took all nine of us siblings to very carefully hide each of the eggs to give the kids some sort of challenge. After the hunt, they all sat around in a circle and shared their candy… although no one was willing to give up their Bit ‘O’ Honey candies to their Aunt “Buhlissa.” Oh well… better luck next year.
I hope your Easter was filled with joy and happiness (and great weather)! I think I have the most photogenic nieces and nephews!! What do you think?!
This one slays my little heart… she has the CUTEST little nose!
