Meet Chelsea

They had waited and waited. He was in London and she was in Washington. A pond apart, but they couldn’t see each other until the wedding. Both of them waited anxiously with their chattering friends surrounding them, but both of them wanted only one thing: to get down that aisle and meet the other there. With both of their families and friends (many from across that large pond) behind them, Helen and Hugo said “I Do” and the smiles never left their faces.

The whole wedding was beautiful as Helen and Hugo tried to mesh both American and British traditions together. No detail was overlooked, and it was the perfect mix of tradition and party. Everyone had a great time, and there were hats. OH, the hats. It was a lovely and intimate affair and I was so honored to capture it for my sweet friend (Helen and I went to high school together)! Congratulations to Helen and Hugo – the exciting road greets you as you make your big move and start your lives together! Cheers!

Ceremony: St. John’s Episcopal Church, Georgetown, D.C.

Reception: The Fairfax Embassy Row, Washington, D.C.

Gorgeous flowers by Natalie over at Enchanted Florist!

The most lovely bride, I think.

Hugo was so handsome!

Love this one of Helen and her Mom (she made all the necklaces the bridesmaids – and herself – were wearing, too!)

Helen’s little brother, Demi was so dashing! I love the relationship these two have!

Married!

I adore this sweet, little moment 🙂

One of my favorites, mainly because about .2647 seconds after this, both Helen and Hugo burst out laughing!

The Fairfax was gorgeous, and could not have fit this wedding any better!

In keeping with British tradition, Helen and Hugo also served Fruit Cake in addition to the main cake. How fun!

The hats were fabulous (although, I believe these hats are called “fascinators”) and all the ladies at the wedding had such great style!

Lots of moving speeches… this one, by Helen’s father.

Love.
