Meet Chelsea

I must admit that I’ve been a horrible blogger this summer. My growing belly (and resulting “morning” sickness) can be blamed, but really, I’ve just been too too busy. My computer is flooded with gorgeous wedding pictures that I’m trying desperately to edit in time, that blogging has gone to the wayside. So for that, I do apologize. I am impressed with myself, however, that I’ve managed to make it four consecutive months with my new Loving Lately series! I am really enjoying it, and I’m enjoying YOUR responses, feedback and ideas all the more! So keep it up 🙂

This month’s series is fall themed, since it is the end of October, and I’m totally ready for cooler weather. I don’t know about you, but my windows have been open all day long, I’ve had more than enough Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and my boots are begging from my closet to be worn! I woke up this morning to find a shiny, red leaf on one of the trees in our backyard! Fall promises to come soon, but for now, it’s just teasing us. So here are my favorite things for this month! Tell me, have you used any of these things? If you got the new iPhone 5, do you adore it? Please share with me YOUR fall faves! Anndd…. over the next month or two, I will be starting to collect ideas for Christmas gifts! I may be jumping the gun on this a bit, but I can’t help myself. What kinds of things are you asking for/giving this year? Gifts for toddlers? Gifts for husbands? And of course, “pretty presents for pretty girls” (quick, name that movie!)!

Enjoy, my friends!

1. Burt’s Bees Milk & Honey Body Lotion. Wow. Someone recommended Burt’s Bees products last month, so I did a little consumer research 😉 I bought this when we were at the beach and I LOVE it. It is not greasy or watery, and I can use it on Camden as well as myself. He tries to lick his hands when I put it on him, and Bobby then proceeds to tell him that he smells like maple syrup! The smell is pleasant and not overwhelming, but boy does it moisturize! I’m switching to this lotion for this pregnancy and giving my Coco Butter the boot.

2. Target Basic Red Cotton Dress/Tunic. I’ve chosen this dress to wear for each of my monthly belly pictures with Baby Barrick #2! I found it in the Juniors section of Target, and just got a larger size so it’s not skin tight. It is SO comfortable, and I saw the same one in Michael Kors for $150! This dress was $18. It has an adorable exposed zipper in the back, and boatneck is really flattering on everyone. Wear it alone with flats, or over leggings for the fall. Either way, it’s a staple in my closet right now.

3. Honeycrisp Apples. YUM. My pregnancy go-to foods are pizza and apples. For whatever reason, those are about the only two things I can eat during the sickest parts of being pregnant. I’m especially delighted that these apples are out now because you can only get them (around here) in the fall! Otherwise, Gala apples are second in line. Go to your local farm or produce stand and pick up a bunch. They are soooo good and are just the epitome of fall (ok, except for the Pumpkin Spice Latte).

4. Frye Boots: Paige Tall Riding Boots. I will never wear another brand of boot again. I bought these last year, when I had to ditch my faithful J. Crew leather boots for a larger size. For their maiden voyage, I wore them for an all-day trip to take pictures in NYC. Not one blister, and they were COMFY! I usually cannot say that after the first wear of any shoe, but they totally pass the test. I bought a light tan color, which is a little more casual, but I love the way the real leather wears – the more you wear it, the better it looks! Some of you may be scoffing at the price tag, but let me tell you: it’s worth every penny. You will have these boots for years and years. I am also dying for the “Melissa Button” style, but opted for these in the end.

5. iPhone 5. I am on my third generation of iPhone, and I must say that I will never go back to another brand of phone. I am a total Apple geek (I have an iMac, iPad, and the iPhone) and I love the product. We just upgraded our iPhone 4’s and I am really happy with the new product! Bobby comes home from work every day with a new trick he learned on his phone. It’s pretty awesome. I could not run my life without this thing: calendar, e-mail, contacts… everything.

6. Starbucks Cold Cup. I see these insulated cups everywhere, but mine just happens to be the Starbucks one! I use this daily, especially now that I’m pregnant and am drinking a TON of water. It keeps my drink cold, and I can use a regular straw in it, not the one provided (I hate washing them). Plus, if you order a cold drink and present your cup, you get 10 cents off 🙂 The link takes you to the 12 oz size, but I recommend the “grande” 16 oz. size, which is sold in stores.

7. Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights. Don’t laugh, but I’ve eaten 4 of these in the last 2 days. I used to get these as a kid (only in the fall) and I love them!! I completely forgot about them until I walked into the grocery store yesterday and opened the box right there in the store and shared one with Camden. They are a cookie – they are a cake – they are a pie. In fact, I’m eating one right now and it’s divine. Do yourself (and your kids, if you have ’em) a favor, and buy a box… or 5.

That’s all for now! Go forth and enjoy your fall weather! Don’t forget to leave you suggestions for future Loving Lately posts!
