Here’s one thing you probably didn’t know about me: I love Starbucks. No, wait. I adore Starbucks. And the funny thing is that I really don’t care for drip coffee. I’m all about the espresso, baby.

This time of year is busiest for me. I’m holed up in my {awesome} home office late at night, editing away, answering e-mails, gawking at my amazingly beautiful brides and thinking how blessed I am. This year is a little different. I have a drool machine hanging in my doorway, bouncing all around, rolling all over my office floor, and singing little bird songs to me instead of listening to my iPod. Even more so than any other year, I am feeling richly blessed.

That does not go to say that I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I find my visits to Starbucks these days a bit of relief from my work back home. Perhaps it’s the smell of the coffee, the cozy feeling of the coffee shop, or the fact that the barista’s know my drink before I even get up to the counter. My poor son. I bet his first word will be “Starbucks.” Either that or “hot” since that’s what I tell him when he tries to grab my cup. Regardless, my decaf grande non-fat Caramel Macchiato is my working therapy. Good for the soul. Good for productivity. I drink my cup on the way back home feeling refreshed, and ready to put my nose back into Photoshop  to look at more pictures of beautiful people.
